Why we’re here.

movr is a movement training app aiming to change the way the world moves, thinks and talks about our bodies.

We focus on addressing individual physical barriers (like persistent body tension) to help improve overall quality of life for the long-term.

Our emphasis is on helping people move better, not just more.

The problem we see in the world.

These days, it’s not always easy to get moving. As a result, it’s all too common for adults to develop physical tension, discomfort and even pain that makes us feel limited in our daily lives.

Popular fitness culture’s no pain, no gain approach can push people to exercise extremes with little connection to their real needs or lifestyle.

These factors can make it easy to feel discouraged, and difficult to make meaningful improvement to how your body moves and feels.

movr is based around ongoing self-assessment and intelligent, personalized exercise prescription.

Aaron de Jong, Founder and CEO

In 2014, Aaron opened Movement108 – a boutique training studio in Vancouver dedicated to fostering community, education and healthy movement.

In 2015, he founded movr with the same goals – just on a bigger scale. As a certified personal trainer with a degree in physical education, Aaron plays a fundamental role in continuing to develop the methodology that drives both the studio and the app, helping people move and feel better along the way.
